Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has confirmed that the club are looking at the prospect of re-signing Dani Ceballos from Real Madrid this summer.
The Spaniard made 37 appearances on loan last season and he was impressive in the backend of the campaign where he formed a solid partnership with Granit Xhaka.
The north London side are keen on retaining his services on loan for the second season running and Arteta has confirmed that talks are already underway with Los Blancos regarding the same.
“He was pretty clear with me as well that his intention was to remain with us, but obviously Real Madrid is involved and I don’t know yet what they want to do with the player. He’s a player that we are interested in,” He told via Arsenal.com.
Arteta has revealed that Ceballos is keen on a return to the Emirates Stadium, but reports in Spain claim that the midfielder would prefer to return to former club Real Betis next term.
The 23-year-old was spotted holidaying while wearing the Betis jersey earlier this month, and it remains to be seen where his future lies. He is expected to resume pre-season training with Los Blancos, as things stand.
