Arsenal have received a potential blow in signing Achraf Hakimi from Inter Milan during the summer transfer window.
The Gunners are bracing for the departure of Hector Bellerin this summer, and they have identified Hakimi as the ideal replacement.
However, they may struggle to land his signature after the full-back affirmed that his future lies with Inter, he told La Repubblica:
“The team that attracted me the most was Inter and I saw it as a growth project. I am honoured to be one of the testimonials for the new club logo.”
“I like it, as it looks to the future, a future we can build together. I hope to stay at this club for a long time, I’m very happy.”
Inter are facing financial problems at the moment, and the club’s owners are prepared to offload at least one star player to balance the books.
It appears that Lautaro Martinez could be the most likely candidate to leave the club this summer with the long-term interest from Barcelona.
The Argentine won’t come on the cheap, however, with a release clause in the region of £97m on his Nerazzurri contract.
