Aston Villa are planning a summer move to sign Manchester United defender Axel Tuanzebe, Football Insider reports.
The 23-year-old has made 15 appearances for United this term, but he has averaged just 45 minutes per game.
The club are reportedly searching for a world-class defender this summer, which could drop Tuanzebe further down the pecking order.
According to Football Insider, the Villans are prepared to offer an escape route to Tuanzebe, who impressed with them on loan in 2018/19.
He played a key role in their promotion bid from the Championship despite missing part of the season with a metatarsal injury.
Tuanzebe has 14 months left on his Red Devils contract with the option for another year, which can be triggered by the club.
Should he push for a summer departure, it is claimed that the Villans could re-sign him for an affordable fee of around £7m.
