Barcelona have reportedly placed a contract offer on the table for Liverpool midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum.
The Dutchman has been with the Reds for the past five years where he has accumulated 225 appearances in all competitions.
His current deal with the Reds expires in June and contract talks have stalled amid a disagreement over wages and length of the renewal.
According to Football Insider, Jurgen Klopp‘s side have given up on keeping Wijnaldum and expected him to leave on a free transfer.
It is added that the Blaugrana have already offered a contract to the Netherlands international, who dreams of playing for them.
Wijnaldum may delay an announcement over his future until the summer with the Reds in a tough situation in the league.
The Merseyside giants are seven points adrift of the top four and face the prospect of missing out on next season’s Champions League.
They recently beat RB Leipzig in the round of 16 of the Champions League and may need to win the title to re-enter the competition next term.
