Bayern Munich have confirmed that they have reached an agreement with RB Leipzig to sign Dayot Upamecano this summer.
However, Bayern were always leading the pursuit after making contact with his agent and they have now officially agreed a deal with Leipzig.
The Bavarian giants will trigger the £38m release clause in the centre-back’s deal which will become active at the beginning of June.
Alaba is unlikely to sign a new deal beyond June 30 after a breakdown in contract talks while Bayern are yet to negotiate with Boateng.
The German is in a similar contract situation and Bayern seem prepared to let him go with the expected summer arrival of Upamecano.
