Chelsea have confirmed their sixth major signing of the summer with Kai Havertz joining them from Bayer Leverkusen.
The Germany international was given permission to undergo a medical earlier today and the Blues have now officially presented him.
“I am very happy and proud to be here, For me it is a dream come true to play in a big club like Chelsea and I can’t wait to meet all the players,” He told the club’s official website.
It was claimed earlier this month that Leverkusen wanted at least £72m upfront for the attacker with add-ons of around £18m.
The Blues, however, managed to reduce their demands and The Telegraph claims that they have paid an initial £62m for his services.
The west London giants have agreed to pay an additional £8m in the future, suppose they go on to win the Premier League with Havertz.
