Emerson Palmieri news

Emerson to be sold by Chelsea

Chelsea are ready to part ways with Emerson Palmieri when the transfer window reopens in less than four months.

The Italian has been with the Blues for the past three years and he has largely been used in rotation at left-back.

According to Calciomercato, Emerson is likely to be sold by the Blues, having fallen down the pecking order.

Emerson has made just one appearance since Thomas Tuchel took charge as the head coach from Frank Lampard in January.

Marcos Alonso and Ben Chilwell have both been preferred ahead of him and the club are prepared to sanction his departure.

Napoli and Inter are keeping tabs on the situation and it is claimed that a fee of around £17m could be sufficient to do business.

Emerson has previously stated that he wants regular first-team football in order to keep his spot with the national team.

Aside from the above-mentioned duo, he has also been linked with a possible return to AS Roma this summer.
