Spain international Kepa Arrizabalaga is prepared to accept a significant cut on his £150,000-a-week wages as he looks to revive his goalkeeping career.
The 26-year-old had a disappointing 2019/2020 season with Chelsea where he managed the worst save percentage among the regular Premier League goalkeepers.
He started the current season in a similar unconvincing manner and that has paved the way for summer signing Edouard Mendy to replace him as the first-choice goalkeeper.
Elsewhere, he has dropped down the pecking order with Spain as well and he is now the third-choice goalkeeper behind Athletic’s Unai Simon and Manchester United’s David de Gea.
He is willing to accept a significant wage-cut to pursue a loan move and reports claim that Valencia could be the front-runners to sign him. Sevilla are also keeping tabs on his situation.
