Chelsea are expected to announce the signing of goalkeeper Edouard Mendy next week, reputed journalist Fabrizio Romano has revealed.
The west London giants recently suffered a 2-0 defeat to Liverpool in the Premier League where they played with a man down for 45 minutes.
Andreas Christensen changed the complexion of the game with his red card offence, but Kepa Arrizabalaga was equally disappointing in goal with a blunder which contributed to the second goal scored by Sadio Mane.
Arrizabalaga has struggled between the sticks over the past year with a save percentage of just 54.5 and quite often, he has been guilty of making tame efforts to stop the ball from finding the net.
Hence, there has been immense frustration among most of the fans, but the Blues seem to have found a solution with the purchase of Mendy from French side Rennes.
The Blues have already agreed on a deal of around £22m with Rennes for the Senegalese footballer and Romano has now revealed that the transfer will be officially announced by next week.
