Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has reportedly urged the club’s hierarchy to make an approach for Paris Saint-Germain captain Marquinhos.
The west London giants appointed Tuchel as their manager in January, and they have made a tremendous turnaround with him.
The club are already through to the FA Cup and Champions League finals, while they are in a good position to finish in the top four.
Blues owner Roman Abramovich will back Tuchel with transfer funds this summer, and Marquinhos has emerged as the top target.
The centre-back/defensive midfielder has made over 300 appearances for Les Parisiens since he arrived in 2013, and he remains an undispensable figure.
However, Les Parisiens may be tempted by a significant bid of £80 million, and it remains to be seen whether the Blues are willing to meet the price tag.
