According to The Independent, Spanish goalkeeper David de Gea is only a couple of mistakes away from getting dropped from the starting lineup at Manchester United.
De Gea has been culpable to making high-profile errors over the past couple of years and that has generated plenty of criticism towards him from pundits as well as the fans.
So far, he has kept his spot ahead of Dean Henderson in goal, but it is reported that he could be axed from the starting lineup, if he makes two more errors between the sticks.
The Spaniard signed a fresh long-term deal with the Red Devils in September last year, but he has since proved a disappointment with the lack of consistency in his performances.
Henderson is currently waiting in the wings to capitalise on De Gea’s misfortune. The 23-year-old recently put pen-to-paper on a long-term contract. He is regarded by many as the club’s future number one.
