Senegal international Edouard Mendy is reportedly undergoing a medical ahead of his summer move to Chelsea.
The Blues recently agreed a deal worth £22m with Rennes for the goalkeeper and he has now travelled to London to finalise the necessary formalities.
According to Sky Sports News, the former Reims man has made his way to the Blues’ training complex and he is currently going through a series of medical examinations.
It is added that the transfer could be officially announced by Tuesday, provided there are no complications in the medical tests. Mendy is expected to replace Kepa Arrizabalaga, who has been disappointing in goal.
The Spaniard has been widely criticised by the fans for his poor shot-stopping and he recently made a blunder in the 2-0 league defeat to Liverpool at Stamford Bridge.
The 25-year-old has no plans of pursuing a fresh challenge this summer and is likely to play second fiddle to Mendy during the course of the current campaign.
