Everton are reportedly making significant progress towards landing the signature of Sami Khedira.
The 33-year-old has been deemed surplus to requirements since the arrival of manager Andrea Pirlo in the summer and he has not played a single minute for the Bianconeri this term.
His current deal expires at the end of the campaign, but reports claim that the club would be willing to release him by mutual agreement at the turn of the year.
The likes of Manchester United and West Ham United have been credited with an interest, but Calciomercato claims that the Toffees are edging closer to landing the midfielder’s services.
Khedira worked with Toffees manager Carlo Ancelotti at Real Madrid. He made more than 150 appearances for the La Liga giants before he made the switch to the Bianconeri in 2015.
Over the past few years, he has been hampered by multiple injury concerns which have reduced his gametime, but it appears that the Toffees could gamble on signing him in January, provided he terminates his Juventus deal.
