Chelsea boss Frank Lampard is determined to land the signature of Ben Chilwell from Leicester City during the current transfer window.
The England international has been identified as the Blues’ first-choice target to strengthen the left-back position, but they have yet to make a formal offer for his services.
According to Football.London, Lampard is keen on adding Chilwell to the club’s ranks this summer and has urged the hierarchy to initiate talks with the Foxes.
Brendan Rodgers‘ side are not actively looking to sell Chilwell and it has been previously reported that they could demand around £80m to part ways with his services.
The Blues are unlikely to meet the valuation under the current financial situation and they are hopeful of negotiating a deal of around £55m for the left-back.
Marcos Alonso and Emerson are currently the specialist options on the left side of the defence, but the latter has been tipped to return to the Serie A this summer with Inter Milan interested.
