Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar is still dreaming of a move to the Premier League amid the interest from Arsenal, Fabrizio Romano reports.
The Gunners were keen on landing his services earlier this summer, but their final offer of £35m fell short of the £50m price tag.
According to Romano, the north London giants want to bring in a creative midfielder in January and they could renew their pursuit of Aouar.
The Italian added that they are also looking into an alternate option in Red Bull Salzburg’s Dominik Szoboszlai, who could be available for a lesser fee.
The Hungary international has registered 22 goals and 32 assists for the Austrian outfit from 73 outings and reports have claimed that he could cost around £23m.
Aside from the Gunners, the likes of AC Milan and RB Leipzig have likewise been credited with an interest in the 20-year-old.
His agent has recently said that he would prefer a move to the Bundesliga.
