According to Manchester Evening News, Jesse Lingard could make the temporary switch to Sheffield United during the January transfer window.
The 28-year-old has experienced a tough year with the Red Devils and he has fallen out-of-favour since the arrival of Bruno Fernandes.
He has yet to play a single minute of Premier League football this term and his only appearances have come in the EFL Cup campaign.
Ahead of next month’s transfer window, it is reported that the Blades are interested in signing him on loan to help in their relegation battle.
The Blades recently suffered a 3-2 defeat to United and following the game, manager Chris Wilder is said to have spoken to Solskjaer over a deal.
Lingard’s current contract expires at the end of the season, but the club have the option to extend his stay for another 12 months.
The England international, who has turned out more than 200 times for United, has also been linked with Rangers and Celtic.
