Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has revealed that Trent Alexander-Arnold will be assessed after sustaining a potential calf injury against Manchester City.
The England international was forced off the playing field after the hour mark of the 1-1 Premier League draw and Klopp now faces an anxious wait to know the extent of the problem.
Speaking after the game, he said: « Trent will be out for England, that is clear. What he has, we don’t know, but he cannot play for England. He will have a scan tomorrow and then we will see. »
The Reds have been hampered by multiple injury issues this term and they are currently without Fabinho, Virgil van Dijk, Thiago Alcantara and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
Van Dijk and Oxlade-Chamberlain are the long-term absentees and the former is a huge loss for them in the central defence. Liverpool are currently third on the table with 17 points, one behind leaders Leicester City.
