Liverpool and Manchester United have reportedly received a transfer blow with Jamal Musiala close to signing a new contract with Bayern Munich.
The teenager recently entered the final 18 months of his contract with the European champions and it was claimed that Bayern could be forced to sell him in the summer unless he agrees to an extension.
Both Liverpool and United have been strongly linked with the England Under-21 international, but their hopes of signing him may be dashed with Hansi Flick‘s side making a breakthrough in the negotiations.
Musiala, who became Bayern’s youngest goalscorer last term, appears likely to sign a professional contract with a significant rise on his current salary.
The 17-year-old has made 22 appearances during the current campaign and the vast majority of those games have come off the substitutes’ bench.
He has certainly left a mark with three goals to his name and Bayern regard him as a key part of their plans for the future.
