Argentine centre-back Ezequiel Garay has emerged as a potential option for Liverpool as they look to find cover in the injury absence of Virgil van Dijk.
Van Dijk sustained a knee ligament injury during the Merseyside derby last weekend and he is now expected to miss the remainder of the current season.
Hence, the Merseyside outfit may look into a stop-gap option and Fichajes claims that the club are considering a move for Garay, who is a free-agent after parting ways with Valencia earlier this year.
Garay has just recovered from a similar knee injury to that of Van Dijk and reports claim that he would be open to joining Jurgen Klopp‘s side on a short-term deal and won’t demand big wages.
The 34-year-old, who has represented Argentine on 32 occasions, has vast experience playing at the big stage and he has 81 appearances to his name in the European competitions alone.
