Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira is reportedly close to sealing his move to Atletico Madrid this summer.
Torreira has fallen out-of-favour under Mikel Arteta and he has failed to make the matchday squad since the beginning of the current campaign.
According to Marca, the Uruguayan is set to leave the Gunners in the coming days and Atletico have emerged as the prime candidates to land him.
Atletico boss Diego Simeone is said to be an admirer of the former Sampdoria man and he has personally made contact to lure him to the club.
The Gunners are currently interested in signing Thomas Partey from the Spanish outfit and it is reported that Torreira could be included as a makeweight.
In recent weeks, Atletico have been reluctant to sell Partey for anything less than his £50m release clause, but they could negotiate on the fee, should Torreira head in the opposite direction.
Torreira started the previous campaign as the regular partner for Granit Xhaka in the midfield. However, he has lost his position to Dani Ceballos, who recently rejoined the club on loan from Real Madrid.
