AS Monaco have reportedly opened talks with Arsenal regarding a potential loan deal for Lucas Torreira until the end of the season.
The Uruguayan was loaned out to Atletico Madrid in the summer, but he has struggled for game time with only two league starts thus far.
Hence, it has been claimed that Torreira’s temporary contract could be mutually terminated such that he can return to the Emirates.
According to Sky Sports News, Monaco have made contact with the Gunners for Torreira and they are willing to sign him on loan.
Atleti have yet to agree to any termination, but reports claim that Monaco will propose the option to buy Torreira in the summer.
Torreira joined the Gunners under much fanfare in 2018 and he has struggled to live up to the high expectations of the club.
He appears unlikely to return to Arteta’s plans, particularly after the summer signing of Partey. His future should be resolved in the next few days.
