Manchester United defender Phil Jones is reportedly worried that he could miss out on a move to Burnley amid talks of a potential takeover.
The Clarets barely spent on new signings during the summer and that has proved costly as they are currently rooted to the bottom of the table.
A recent report claimed that Sean Dyche may sanction the sale of James Tarkowski to West Ham United in January such that he can recoup funds for a mid-season spending spree.
Furthermore, it was suggested that Jones, who is recovering after a knee surgery, could be a cost-cut option to replace the England international at the Clarets.
According to The Star, the Clarets are currently in talks over a potential takeover worth £200m and should the move go through, they won’t face the necessity to sell Tarkowski for transfer funds.
In such a case, Jones is said to be worried that he could miss out on the opportunity of reviving his Premier League career with Burnley and may have to drop to the Championship.
