Manchester United have entered talks with free-agent Edinson Cavani, Gianluca di Marzio has revealed.
The Red Devils have experienced a quiet summer transfer window and they have made just one signing in midfielder Donny van de Beek from Ajax.
According to Gianluca di Marzio, the club are keen to strengthen their attack in the coming days and they are eager to land a new striker.
The same publication cites that Cavani is one of the top targets on their radar and they have already opened talks with his agent.
Cavani parted ways with Paris Saint-Germain after the expiry of his contract on June 30 and he has since been on the search for a new club.
He was tipped to sign for Benfica earlier last month, but the move fell through amid a disagreement over the financial package.
Cavani has netted 20 or more goals in nine of his previous 10 seasons. His only failure came last term where he scored only seven times.
The Uruguayan struggled with multiple injuries over the course of the campaign and that restricted him to only 22 appearances.
