Manchester United have been handed a big boost in signing Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane.
The Frenchman has been with the Spanish champions for the past decade, but he could be on the move this summer.
His current deal with the club expires in June next year, and Los Blancos have yet to convince him to extend his stay.
According to AS, Varane is open to a new challenge away from Madrid this summer amid the lack of progress in contract talks.
Paris Saint-Germain and United are keen on signing him, but the latter have the edge with Varane said to prefer a move to England.
Chelsea have also been linked with the former Lens graduate, and United could face fierce competition for his services.
Los Blancos are likely to demand around £70m for Varane this summer, suppose the defender continues with his stand-off.
Aside from Varane, club-captain Sergio Ramos could also leave the Madrid giants with his contract expiring in two months’ time.
