Manchester United have not made any offer to sign Arsenal midfielder Ainsley Maitland-Niles, BBC Sport’s Simon Stone has revealed.
Earlier today, a report from Sport1 claimed that the Red Devils had an offer of around £20m accepted for Maitland-Niles and the England international would be joining the club before the transfer deadline.
However, this has been swiftly rebuffed by Stone, who has revealed that there has been no contact between the clubs over the potential transfer of Maitland-Niles.
The 23-year-old has featured in all four outings for the Gunners this term. He has played through 90 minutes in two of the club’s three Premier League games.
Wolverhampton Wanderers and Tottenham Hotspur were heavily linked with the versatile midfielder earlier in the transfer window, but neither appear likely to revive their interest before the October 5 deadline.
Meanwhile, the Gunners are not actively looking into the sale of Maitland-Niles with manager Mikel Arteta considering him as a valuable part of the first-team squad.
