Manchester United are reportedly in advanced negotiations to land the signature of Raphael Varane from Real Madrid.
The Frenchman has been with Los Blancos for the past decade, but his future is certain with his contract expiring in 14 months.
According to AS, Los Blancos are likely to be compelled to sell the centre-back this summer, if there is no breakthrough in contract talks.
It is added that the Red Devils are already in advanced discussions with the player’s representatives regarding a summer move.
Los Blancos are said to value Varane around £60m, but the price could be driven down due to the contract situation.
However, he wants another elite defender to partner Maguire. Varane has obviously been a long-term target for the Red Devils.
They attempted to sign him from Lens 10 years ago. In 2019, they made another approach, but he was convinced to stay by Los Blancos.
