Manchester United are reportedly leading the race to sign Nikola Milenkovic from Fiorentina at the end of the season.
The 23-year-old joined the Serie A outfit from Partizan four years ago and he has since accumulated 118 appearances in all competitions.
His current is due to expire in the summer of 2022 and so far, he has shown no indication of putting pen-to-paper on a fresh deal.
Juventus and Inter have been credited with an interest in signing him but La Repubblica claims that United are front of the queue to land his services.
Milenkovic was regarded as a top target for the Red Devils two years ago when they were previously managed by Jose Mourinho.
The speculation has faded away over the past year, but reports claim he could be available for around £35m when the campaign concludes.
The Red Devils are currently content with their central defensive options, but recent poor displays may tempt them to pursue another player.
