Manchester United will reportedly have to pay a fee of around £90m to land the signature of Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish.
The Red Devils have vastly improved their creativity since the arrival of Bruno Fernandes from Sporting Lisbon.
Still, they are on the search for another playmaker and have been continuous linked with a move for the Villans captain.
According to The Athletic, Villa are aware that the 25-year-old may be tempted by a bigger challenge, but they are unlikely to lower their asking price.
Grealish only put pen-to-paper on a fresh deal in September this year and his contract does not expire until the summer of 2025.
Hence, the Villans feel no obligation to sell him for anything less than £90m.
United are unlikely to make any new signings this month other than the arrival of Atalanta’s Amad Diallo.
They are bracing for the departure of Paul Pogba this summer and that could see them make an approach for Grealish.
Still, it is unclear whether they would be prepared to break their transfer record to sign the versatile midfielder.
