Manchester United have received a boost in signing Joshua King from Bournemouth during the ongoing transfer window.

The Red Devils were interested in signing King in January, but they were put off by the Cherries’ £40m price tag for his services.

Hence, they ended up pursuing Odion Ighalo on loan from Shanghai Shenhua and earlier in May, they agreed to extend his stay until January 2021.

Despite this, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants another striker in the squad and King has been identified as the preferred transfer target.

King has only 10 months left on his contract and The Telegraph reports that the Cherries want to sell him rather than losing him on a free next year.

The Norway international is valued at around £15m and he has been linked with the likes of Fulham and Aston Villa in recent weeks.

He is, however, said to favour a return to Old Trafford where he started his career. Solskjaer was the reserve team coach when King was at the club.
