Man Utd, Spurs receive boost in signing King

Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur have received a boost in signing Bournemouth forward Josh King before the transfer deadline.

The Norway international was fancied to join the Red Devils in January, but their £20m bid was rejected by the Cherries.

With the Cherries’ relegation from the top-flight, there has been intense speculation over King’s future and The Sun claims that he could leave for a knockdown price.

The south Coast outfit were demanding around £40m for King earlier this year, but they are now prepared to accept as little as £10m, considering his contract expires in nine months’ time.

Both United and Spurs are on the search for a quality back-up striker and it remains to be seen whether they will make a move for the Norwegian before the domestic transfer window closes on October 16.

United have experienced a quiet transfer window and they have made only one signing in Donny van de Beek. Spurs, however, have been very active this summer.

They have landed the services of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Joe Hart, Matt Doherty, Sergio Reguilon and Gareth Bale this summer, the latter arriving on loan from Real Madrid.
