Manchester United could attempt to sign Mauro Icardi, should Edinson Cavani head through the exit door this summer.
Cavani joined on a free transfer last summer, and he has been a decent signing with seven goals in all competitions.
However, he has struggled with regular injuries this year, while reports claim that he wants to return to South America.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, United have the option of extending the Uruguayan’s stay for another 12 months.
However, there is a possibility that they could part ways with the 34-year-old to pursue a young high-profile striker.
Icardi has emerged as an option for them and it is claimed that he could be available for between £35m and £40m.
Should they fail to do so, it is likely that Icardi may remain with them. Kean has regularly got the nod over Icardi upfront this term.
