Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has hailed the performance of Thomas Partey during the club’s 1-0 win over Manchester United at Old Trafford.
The Gunners ended their 14-year wait for a Premier League win at the stadium after Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored from the penalty spot.
However, they had to work hard for the result and Partey was among the standout performers over the course of 90 minutes.
The Ghanaian made four tackles, two interceptions and 10 recoveries while completing 93 percent of the passes completed.
Speaking after the game, Arteta was impressed with the display from Partey and added that the team played with a lot of courage.
“He was really good. I’m glad that whoever I pick is giving absolutely everything and they play with a lot of courage,” He told Sky Sports.
Partey was partnered alongside Mohamed Elneny in the centre of the park and the latter also produced one of his best performances in the club’s shirt.
Elneny’s selection ahead of Granit Xhaka was certainly a surprise, but he proved his worth with a tireless and quality showing.
