Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has provided an update on the speculation linking Martin Odegaard with a move to the club.
The Norwegian is available on loan this month after failing to establish himself under Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane.
It has been widely reported that the Gunners have won the race to sign him and it is only a matter of time before he joins them.
When asked about the possible deal, Arteta refused to reveal the progress, but hinted that the move could be close to completion.
“I don’t know. Obviously we played today, so since last night I don’t have any news. Probably, I will get a few phone calls today and see where we are with every deal,” He told Arsenal.com.
Odegaard had a fantastic season on loan with Real Sociedad last term where he contributed seven goals and nine assists from 36 appearances.
He has not been able to prove himself at Los Blancos due to the lack of game time and hence, he is set to leave them on a temporary basis.
