Spurs given green light to sign Inters Skriniar

The Slovakian defender in recent times has been on the radar of the North London side. Mourinho, who made an approach for the brutal defender during the summer transfer window was denied his man since both sides couldnt come to an agreement with the club chief further stating he was not for sale.

With the January transfer coming thick and fast, Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has claimed that the North London outfit will be able to land their man should a new offer be tabled come January, further stating Inter are in need of funds after being hit by the pandemic.

Speaking on his ‘Here we go’ podcast, the expert said “Inter Milan needs money. If Spurs arrive tomorrow morning with 45m, Inter will sell him. The deal is up to them now.”

Skriniar, 25 years of age has impressed for the Nerazzuri since his arrival at the club in the last three seasons and is regarded one of the best centre-backs in Europe. He has made 130 appearaces and led Inter to the Europa league final last season narrowly losing to Sevilla..

With Jose short of defensive options, after the departure of long serving defender Jan Vertoghen who left on a free transfer at the end of the 2019/20 campaign, Eric Dier has since being converted to centre-back, but Davinson Sanchez has been performing below standards whenever called upon.

Since the deal for Skriniar failed, the club opted to sign Swansea youngster Joe Rodon who filled in for the injured Toby during their goaless draw with Chelsea and was impressive but Mourinho will be concerned with regards to his inexperience. And with Mourinho eyeing the premier league title, he may go in for the more accomplished Skriniar but Spurs must fork out 45m for him.
