Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel will attempt to sign Erling Braut Haaland from Borussia Dortmund during next summer’s transfer window.
Tuchel was recently appointed as the new Blues boss and he is unlikely to make any signings before the transfer deadline next week.
Instead, the club’s hierarchy are prepared to back him with funds in the summer and The Mail claims that he is determined to land Haaland.
Haaland has been an exceptional player for Dortmund since his arrival from Red Bull Salzburg last winter and he has bagged 37 goals from 37 games.
He has a buy-out clause worth £65m on his contract, but that does not become active until the end of the 2021/2022 campaign.
Hence, the Blues will have to pay a significant fee of more than £100m in order to convince Dortmund to part ways with the Norwegian.
Manchester United and Real Madrid are also keeping tabs on the player, who has more than three years remaining on his current contract.
